How do you generate a CSR [Certificate Signing Request] for an SSL Certificate in cPanel and install an external SSL certificate?

1. Login to cPanel

2. Under Security, select and open SSL/TLS

4. Select CERTIFICATE SIGNING REQUESTS (CSR) and click it

5. Kindly fill in the domain details properly.

If the SSL is DV, OV, or EV: use domain.com

If the SSL is Wildcard DV, OV, or EV: use *.domain.com

6. Once the details are filled. Click Generate

7. The CSR will be generated

8. Once the SSL is generated, kindly copy the Certificate details and keep it

9. Now open the settings for CERTIFICATES (CRT), click it

10. Scroll down to the “Upload a New Certificate” option and paste the copied certificate in the box “Paste the certificate into the following text box”

11. Click Save Certificate

12. On the same page, search for the domain name. And click Install

13. It will take you to the Installation page. Now click Install

14. And now after successful installation, you will be able to use the SSL with your domain
